Who is in Wildflower
The character screen in the demo lists seven names — Ashley, Amy, Gina, Rose, Corry, Madeline and Ava — plus a My Profile entry for the protagonist. Ashley's dossier is the one shown open: age 26, private investigator.
Seven names sit on the character screen of the I Have Known You demo, plus an entry for the player. That roster is the most concrete piece of information the game has released about its cast, and it is worth reading carefully, because a list of names in a specific order is already a design statement.

The roster, in the order the game lists it
The Characters screen in the demo lists them top to bottom:
| Name | What the demo shows | What the list position implies |
|---|---|---|
| Ashley | Dossier open on the store screenshots: age 26, Private Investigator | First in the list, first with a full dossier |
| Amy | Name in the roster | Early cast, likely met early |
| Gina | Name in the roster | Early cast, likely met early |
| Rose | Name in the roster | Sits in the middle of the seven |
| Corry | Name in the roster | Middle of the seven |
| Madeline | Name in the roster | Late-middle of the seven |
| Ava | Name in the roster | Last of the seven |
| My Profile | Separate entry for the protagonist | Your own file, not a character dossier |
The order is worth noting because visual novel rosters are rarely alphabetical. Ashley, Amy, Gina, Rose, Corry, Madeline, Ava is not sorted by first letter, by length or by any obvious system, which usually means the order reflects either the order you meet them or the order the writer thinks of them. Both are useful: meeting order tells you the demo's pacing, and authorial order tends to track importance.
Seven characters is a deliberate number
A visual novel's cast size is a budget decision before it is a creative one. Every character needs a dossier, a route, art, voice in the writing, and a share of the branching structure. Seven is enough to make a town feel populated and small enough that the writer can give each one a real arc.
It also sets the shape of the romance. With seven named characters and a protagonist, the game has room for several viable relationships and a couple of relationships that are not romantic at all — the store page is explicit that relationships "can turn into friendship, love… or betrayal". A cast this size is what makes that sentence possible.
Ashley, and why she is the one shown
The store screenshots open Ashley's dossier. That is not an accident of capture: a store page shows the character the game wants you to meet first, and Ashley gets the slot. Her entry reads Age: 26 and Occupation: Private Investigator.
A private investigator is a specific choice in a story about a town that keeps secrets. It means at least one character has a professional reason to ask the questions the protagonist is asking, which creates a natural ally or a natural obstacle depending on how the relationship develops. It also gives the writer a way to deliver exposition that is in character rather than convenient.
The protagonist is in the list too
The My Profile entry is easy to miss and it matters. The protagonist has a dossier like everyone else, which means the game is tracking him as a character rather than as an empty vessel. The store page supports this: you "customize the protagonist's name and shape his personality through your choices".
A protagonist with a personality that changes is a different design from a silent avatar. It means the choices are not only about who you romance, but about who you become while doing it — and the profile screen is where the game shows you the result.
Reading a cast list without spoilers
The temptation with a roster like this is to assign roles: the childhood friend, the ex, the newcomer, the antagonist. The demo does not support that yet, and guessing wrong is how players ruin their own first run.
A better use of the list is to plan your attention:
- Open every dossier as soon as a name appears. The Memories section is what the game thinks you know, and it is a useful check on whether you were paying attention.
- Note who is in the room when a big scene happens. In a seven-character ensemble, proximity is a hint.
- Watch who the relationship counter fires for. A character with several counter changes early is a character the game wants you to invest in.
What the full game changes
The demo's roster is the opening cast, not necessarily the final one. A town with a witch-hunt history has room for people who are not in the first three hours: a historian, a priest, someone who remembers Agnes by another name. The release on 26 February 2027 is where the list either holds at seven or grows.
What will not change is the structure: dossiers with a Profile, an Occupation, Likes and Dislikes, a Kinks field, a Relationship state, Memories and a Journey Gallery. That is the interface the whole cast is built on, and the character profiles page breaks down every field.
For the relationships those names feed into, read relationships and routes. For the town they live in, read Wildflower.
The roster and Ashley's dossier were read directly from the demo's character screen, and cross-checked with the Steam store listing, on 3 November 2026.
